Manufacture, build and Installation
Once the VT contractor is appointed their own critical design process will begin. This is an important time and the VT Studio will proactively ensure that their design solution accurately reflects the contract documents and will offer experienced advice where required. We work with the team in ensuring every VT contractor drawing is commented upon and fully meets all the requirements demanded by their contract.
At this time, we also work closely with the architect and client to ensure the appearance and quality of the end product fulfils their detailed requirements and expectations and is fully compliant with all relevant safety, fire and access codes.
Contract Services – a finger on the pulse
We have extensive experience of monitoring vertical transportation suppliers and installers on site and our team consists of a number of specialists who carry out this function. Once the VT contractor has started on site, we attend to carry out technical compliance checks and regular progress meetings with the main contractor and design team. We also conduct installation reviews during the construction phase to ensure that work is progressing in accordance with the contract documents and in conformity with the agreed design and programme. We can prepare detailed monthly reports mapping unit by unit compliance and progress.
We contribute advice, assistance and problem-solving skills to ensure the process happens as it should and endeavor to prevent the unforeseen becoming a bigger challenge, helping to keep work on time and to budget. In the event of live issues or delays incurred by the vertical transportation subcontractor we do more than just report it, we offer solutions.
Factory Visits
We visit the subcontractor’s factory facilities, which know well, often in the company of main contractor and architect’s personnel, for the purposes of reviewing designs and checking workmanship, compliance of products with the contract documents and of course progress.
We also undertake quality assurance assessments of manufacturing facilities as they continue to be built in new areas around the world all the time.
