The VT Studio was founded by John Stopes at the end of 2013 who moved into consulting following a long and successful career at senior level within the Vertical Transportation industry.
John has worked with vertical transportation since 1976 and has been involved with numerous major projects both in the UK and abroad, working for the major manufacturers until 2001 and then specialist VT consultancies and large multi-disciplinary practices until 2014.
In that time, we have built a strong team since then and have added some tremendous experiences which continue to flourish and blossom. This includes consultancy services on the City of London’s tallest building, 22 Bishopsgate, 100 Bishopsgate, Terminal 2A at Heathrow, Pier A at Schiphol Airport, ICDB Tower at the financial centre in Dubai, Schiphol Airport, Yandex Campus, Moscow, NEOM The Line, New Murabba in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and numerous other first-class projects. 2025 will see us pass 250 projects since inception.
From June 1st 2025, we are proud to announce a strategic collaboration between Elevating Studio (Singapore, APAC) and The Vertical Transportation Studio (UK/EMEA) — two specialist VT Consultancy firms united by a passion for excellence in vertical transportation consultancy.
The VT Studio will continue to operate under its own brand, with John Stopes as Managing Director and Adam Scott joining as Executive Director from 1 July 2025.
Together, our teams bring decades of experience, complementary expertise, and landmark projects across Asia Pacific, UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
As Elevating Studio celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and the VT Studio its 11th, this partnership couldn’t be more fitting — and with names like ours, it really is a match made in heaven.
