The Stage is in Shoreditch and based on the historical Shaekespeare’s Curtain Theatre Site. It includes an acre of public space and approximately 400,000 square feet of living, office, retail and leisure space.

Our involvement in this project was somewhat late in the design phase, we were invited to provide some commentary and due diligence, this then became our project during the architects Stage C design phase.

The residential area is a 37 floor tower with communal space, basement storage and facilities including cinema, lounge, gym, there are four passenger lifts in the tower and as all lifts do not serve all floors we made the decision to use Destination Hall Call. We specified the passenger lifts to be a larger capacity, for the CIBSE “luxury” dwelling feel. There are also fire, goods and vehicle lifts.

The vehicle lifts were specified to allow larger wheelbase luxury vehicles, part of our specification involved detailing dimensions of Maybach’s and Rolls Royce’s. The Goods Lift was specified to carry a “Baby grand Piano”.

There are two office buildings one of which is 8 floors above ground and the other 12 floors above ground. Both include basement access and storage.

We produced reports from Stage C, a technical specification, provided tender analysis and most importantly guidance to improve upon the lift design work carried out prior to our appointment.
